See the Real Position

A project can appear active while cost, progress, cash flow and delivery risk are becoming increasingly difficult to control. The Project Commercial Diagnostic provides a structured review of the project’s actual commercial and operational position.

Who It Helps

This service is intended for contractors, developers, engineers, project owners and project-led businesses that need a clearer understanding of what is actually happening within a project.

It is particularly valuable where management is receiving different information from the site team, suppliers, consultants or client and does not have one reliable view of the project’s commercial position.

When To Use It

A diagnostic should be considered when the project is active but management is uncertain about its true position. This may happen when costs are increasing, progress is unclear, payments are delayed, materials are not arriving on time or the expected margin is no longer visible.

The diagnostic is also useful before approaching a funder, entering a recovery process, appointing additional support or making a major commercial decision.

What We Review

AfriGrowth reviews the information that influences project performance. This includes the contract or appointment, scope, approved budget, actual costs, commitments, payment position, programme, procurement requirements, site progress and known risks.

The purpose is not simply to collect documents. The purpose is to compare the planned position with the actual position and identify where the project is exposed.

What You Provide

The client provides the information available for the project, which may include the contract, BOQ, programme, project reports, supplier commitments, payment records, site photographs, variations, claims and outstanding work lists.

If information is missing, that itself becomes part of the diagnostic. Missing information often prevents management from identifying risk early enough.

What You Receive

The client receives a structured review of the project’s commercial position, together with a summary of the main risks, information gaps and priority actions.

The output may also recommend whether the project requires recovery support, ongoing project support, procurement intervention, improved reporting or a more detailed funding-pack process.

Expected Outcome

The expected outcome is a clearer and more realistic view of the project. Management should be able to understand where the project stands, what is creating exposure, what information is missing and which actions require immediate attention.

How It Works

The process begins with an enquiry and qualification discussion. Once the scope is confirmed, the client provides the available project information. AfriGrowth reviews the information, identifies the key commercial and operational issues and presents the findings.

If further intervention is required, the next service is scoped separately.
